Marketing Technology (MarTech) team's mission is to develop systems and tools that enable marketers to provide customers multi-touch, personalized and timely messages that enhance the experience of using our services. Customer journey automation and real-time targeting are examples of systems that the team works on. With opportunities to challenge yourself and lead a talented team to success, you’ll find what you’re looking for at Audible.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, test, and maintain software components and applications for the world's largest audiobook creator and providerIdentify and resolve software defects through code review, log analysis, metrics examination, debugging, and other troubleshooting methodsWrite maintainable and scalable code for software components as part of an agile engineering teamCollaborate with stakeholders to envision, design, develop, test, and launch customer-centric software that inspires and impacts usersApply computer science, engineering, and analysis principles to solve moderate-scale problemsContinuously enhance testability, operational excellence (OE), and documentation for owned software componentsHandle data classification, storage, and management in accordance with company policiesParticipate in the interview process and provide mentorship to fellow engineersAbout AudibleAudible is the leading producer and provider of audio storytelling. This spirit courses throughout Audible, supporting a culture of creativity and inclusion built on our People Principles and our mission to build more equitable communities in the cities we call home.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fieldProgramming experience with one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, C++, C#), including object-oriented design1+ years of experience in software developmentBusiness fluency in written and verbal EnglishPreferred QualificationsContent Management System (CMS) expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience building proprietary CMS platforms, or standing up and configuring one or more popular CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal, Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, or Episerver. This includes understanding the CMS architecture, plugin/module development, theming, and customization.Experience in building scalable software services (e.g., SOA, Micro-services)Experience building and delivering software systems to internal or external customersKnowledge of professional software development life cycle best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operationsProblem solving skills and willingness to accept new challenges, take ownership and be adaptableBasic understanding of security conceptsCapable of using technology to solve straightforward problemsCan take a defined design, turn it into high quality code, and deliver it on scheduleProficient in a broad range of data structures and algorithms, knowing when it is (and isn’t) appropriate to use themExperience with Computer Science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and problem solvingOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
