We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join Medallia’s Commercial Contracting team, supporting the LATAM and the Americas regions. This key professional will negotiate complex SaaS contracts within a fast‑paced, AI‑powered customer experience industry. As a strategic partner to the Sales and Professional Services teams, the Legal Counsel is critical in driving sound commercial decisions through structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex agreements with some of the world’s largest companies. Success requires deep expertise in contract law and commercial risks, coupled with strong business acumen, exceptional cross‑functional partnering skills, and the ability to drive consensus and resolution. Responsibilities Negotiate and close good deals – lead relationship‑focused negotiations with customers, including many Fortune 500 brands, and find creative, efficient ways to close deals that deliver value to both Medallia and customers. Demonstrate excellent writing skills to ensure contracts express complex ideas in clear, straightforward prose. Develop a nuanced understanding of Medallia’s business and industry, complementing a strong foundation in commercial law. Provide general legal counsel on a broad range of issues such as artificial intelligence, intellectual property, and privacy laws. Drive process transformation by evaluating internal processes and improving them to deliver superb legal counseling and support at scale. Maintain a collaborative mindset and engage effectively with colleagues across the company. Continuously seek knowledge and experience, celebrating milestones in development. Candidates based in the Buenos Aires or Mexico City vicinity will be prioritized as this role is hybrid, 3 days per week onsite. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education: Law Degree from an accredited university (Título de Abogado – Argentina, Licenciatura en Derecho – Mexico). Bar Admission: Active professional license and in good standing (Matrícula with CPACF or provincial bar association – Argentina, Cédula Profesional – Mexico). At least 3 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm, government agency, or in‑house legal department. At least 2 years experience negotiating commercial contracts, including cross‑border transactions across multiple jurisdictions in the Americas (US and LATAM). Languages: Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken. Preferred Qualifications Advanced Degree: LL.M. with a focus on Corporate or Commercial Law. 3+ years law firm experience. Broad experience negotiating commercial contracts in the technology sector. Highly collaborative, supportive, and mission‑focused team player. Positive attitude and proactive approach.
