Job Summary The Assistant General Manager helps the General Manager to ensure day‑to‑day business operations run smoothly. You will be one of the key managers responsible for all operations in the property, directly managing team members, ensuring high‑quality care of staff, meeting guest needs, and translating issues into positive opportunities. Essential Job Functions Oversee day‑to‑day operations and assignments of hotel staff; assist the General Manager in developing and communicating departmental strategies and goals. Communicate and enforce policies and procedures. Recommend or initiate staffing/human resources actions, and alert GM of potential issues. Ensure staff training and resources are adequate. Supervise staff in multiple departments as needed. Use company‑wide tools, systems, and applications. Provide hands‑on support for front office operations. Ensure accounts receivable are updated, invoices sent and reconciled weekly, and handle customer payment follow‑up. Front office, revenue, and reservation functions to deliver superior guest services and meet established goals. Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and hotel assets. Respond to guest inquiries and complaints. Report incidents to appropriate personnel (HR, Insurance, RDO, etc.). Maintain a proactive HR function covering employee relations, training, wage/benefit administration, and compliance. Make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance assets and brand loyalty. Experience and Education Prior experience as Assistant General Manager, Front Office Manager, or Operations Manager. Proficient in Microsoft 365 or similar applications. Experience with brand's PMS and Point of Sales systems. Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major preferred.
