SUMMARY
Collect, transfer, treat and discharge industrial wastewater. Ensure discharged wastewater is in compliance with City, State and Federal regulations. Perform environmental compliance duties related to the handling/management of hazardous and regulated wastes. Monitor and troubleshoot wastewater and waste handling equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Adhere to company health and safety policies.
  • Drum management and disposal.
  • Waste packaging in accordance requirements.
  • Operate wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on wastewater equipment.
  • Collect environmental samples.
  • Complete wastewater logbooks and air permit recordkeeping requirements.
  • Operate and maintain air scrubbers.
  • Monitor waste streams that include hazardous, nonhazardous and State regulated wastes.
  • Complete weekly/monthly inspections.
  • General department housekeeping.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
  • Adhere to and support Lean and 5S principals.
  • Perform onsite laboratory analysis of wastewater.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Knowledge of industrial wastewater treatment including basic chemistry and analysis of water samples.
  • Familiar with pneumatic liquid handling equipment, piping and tank operations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Selfmotivated with a high level of ownership and accountability.
  • Lean skills continually drives process improvements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


High school education or equivalent life experience and minimum one - two years related work experience and/or training in similar industry or work environment.


LANGUAGE SKILLS


Ability to communicate in English to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations with customers, engineers, supervision and other employees of organization.
