Job Title
General Accountant

Position Purpose

General Accountant is responsible of assuring, reviewing and reconciliating general ledger (GL) transactions and recordings for US and MX books validating that the recordings and calculations are made accordingly to both countries accounting rules.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Prepares reconciliations of the asset and liabilities balance accounts from current accounting period to last period / year reconciling the General Ledger balances with support documentation. This includes but not limited to accruals, inventory purchases, chargebacks, duties, period close & statutory close JE.
  • Prepares financial information for US and MX Statutory closing. Stay in constant communication with peers in US corporate office to attend any question and solve small questions arising. Follow up US and MX end of period accounting closure and GL records reviews, updates, reconciliations and changes.
  • Assist on all requirements by internal & external Audit for US and MEX GAAP, as COGS statement, store & DC physical inventory roll forward, purchases samples, cost testing, etc.
  • Creates and elaborates accounting procedures and internal controls as required to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly and timely in general ledger systems.
  • Assists with any special projects required by supervisor, manager or other related areas and verifies new procedures, automations, new financial IT tools and systems implementations when applicable.
  • Daily activities related to vendors support as chargebacks deductions, chargeback details and questions.
Education & Experience

Level of Formal Education:
A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.
