The world's most sophisticated networks rely on CommScope connectivity. We are looking for Staff Material Failure Analysis Engineer to join our Apodaca, Mexico Team .
How You'll Help Us Connect the World- Evaluates material and component characteristics to determine failure mechanism (mechanical fractures, contamination, corrosion, etc).
- Analyze and interpret data from various sources: SEM/EDS, X-Ray, CSAM, FTIR, DSC.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize material selection and processing methods.
- Communicate timelines for publication of results and/or any delays that may occur because of hardware or other issues.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in materials science, and failure analysis techniques.
- Be responsible for operation and maintenance of the FTIR, Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) and related lab equipment.
- Master's or PhD degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field.
- Experience working with polymer materials.
- Hands-on experience using SEM, EDS, metallographic sample preparation, and related analytical instruments for polymers (FTIR, DSC, TGA, TMA).
- Experience of at least 5 years in Failure Analysis Lab environment (includes University Labs).
- Positive attitude, collaborative, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
- Blue print reading and computer literacy.
