Main Responsibilities:


As a Technical Information Specialist for the Enterprise Technical Information Development (ETID) organization, supporting global Performance Upgrade Projects, you will develop and author technical publications including operator's manuals, diagnostic manuals, repair manuals and installation instructions by understanding product purposes, functions, and user requirements.


  • Work in partnership with product engineering, customer support planning, and customer support engineering to support diagnostic, dealer technician, and customer uptime initiatives for new product projects. Collaborate with Aftermarket & Customer Support counterparts to identify and improve technician diagnostic and repair pain points on current products.
  • Gather project requirements through collaboration with Project Leader, Lead Technical Information Specialist, and key stakeholders (customer support planners, product engineering and manufacturing engineering) to develop and execute project plans meeting schedule, quality, resource, and budget needs.
  • Assist and support technical publications development by identifying, scoping, and facilitating work with appropriate authoring resources (internal and external) based on work complexity, skills, and expertise.
  • Lead technical publication content quality initiatives by ensuring use of content review processes and completing technical content reviews.
  • Encourage open communication and collaboration across key stakeholder, authoring and ETID resources.
  • Lead and support technical information innovation special projects, including standards development, supporting continuous improvement and Lifecycle Support. Identify processes, tools, and collaboration opportunities and propose solutions.
  • Provide support for less senior team members.
  • Create graphics and visual images to support content included on technical publications. Develops and authors detailed diagnostic information for a previously identified system/subsystem to be used by dealer technicians and other product support personnel to diagnose and repair technical product problems. Conducts research to expand and clarify authored material. Provides support for less senior authors.

What Skills You Need:

  • One or more years of experience with engineering principles and theory.
  • One or more years of exposure to one or more of the following systems: Mechanical, Hydraulics and/or Electrical. Interpretation of schematics.
  • Previous experience in one or more of the following: product and/or manufacturing engineering, operations, product and/or customer support.
  • Fluent in English strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule (early morning/evening) when necessary to support business needs.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 10%.

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Experience writing or authoring and/or knowledge of authoring processes and tools.
  • Experience with diagnostics in one or more of the following systems: mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or advanced software technology.
  • Experience using Engineering and/or Manufacturing tools such as: CAD, Creo/CreoView, VisView, SAP, AMES, W Planner, Windchill, Capital Harness, etc.).
  • Experience working with global team members.
  • Project Management experience.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Agronomy, Ag Sciences, or equivalent work experience.
