ENGINEERING HEAD

DISCIPLINE DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advise the production department regarding manufacturing processes for solving process problems.
  • Develop new processes and optimize current ones to improve productivity in quantity, quality and cost.
  • Supervise the development of tool and equipment designs for new products in order to meet the requirements at the lowest cost and time.
  • Supervise the feasibility studies and the implementation of new products to meet the objective of market expansion with the quality, cost and time required.
  • Design, Control of Experiments, Root Cause Analysis and Statistical Control of processes
  • Control engineering budgets.
  • Monitor the supply of services and energy to maintain a consistent and reliable operation of the different productive areas and represent CORNING Mexicana, S.A. de C.V in relations with public service companies.
  • Ensure through training and direct supervision the engineering activities in general within the plant.
  • Coordinate the installation or uninstallation of machinery and plant equipment in general as well as supervising the correct installation or removal of supplies for them.
  • Monitoring and control of metrics, OEE, TAU, Downtime, Fist Past Yield & Poka Yoke

Competences

Education

  • Electrical Mechanical Engineer or Administrator Mechanical Engineer (desirable)

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years, in personnel management, electromechanical knowledge, pneumatic equipment, project management, knowledge of automated equipment
