Netflix is the world's leading streaming entertainment service with over 200 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, documentaries, and feature films across a wide variety of genres and languages. The Content Finance, Strategy & Analysis team is looking for an Associate to join its Latin America team based in Mexico City. Content Finance, Strategy & Analysis is the team in charge of the valuation and analytical strategy behind our content buying and original content decisions for our local content in the region. The team works cross-functionally to translate the incredible amount of data at Netflix into financial and strategic decisions regarding the production and acquisition of TV shows and films. Content Finance, Strategy & Analysis also evaluates the general programming and content strategy, in addition to leading competitive analysis. We partner closely with the senior leadership of Netflix who depend heavily on the strategic insights we provide to inform critical business decisions across the company.

This role will reside in Netflix's Mexico City office and involves close coordination with members of the Content, Finance, Strategy & Analysis teams across the world.

Responsibilities
  • Execute deal and valuation analyses (model building, scenario testing, etc) of new projects in partnership with the Creative and Business Affairs teams
  • Conduct market research, tracking and compiling industry trends in the region
  • Develop analysis to support the understanding of industry trends as well as competitive threats and opportunities
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of key business drivers and content trends
  • Work with leaders within the content organization to translate strategic initiatives into multi-year plans
  • Regularly present analyses and reports on relevant Content performance, operating, and financial metrics in an easy-to-understand format to senior business leaders
  • Compile thoughtful post-mortem analyses to determine areas for optimization and improvement
  • Work cross-functionally with other FS&A teams globally as well as Product, Marketing, and Consumer Insights teams
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in a top management consulting firm, investment bank, private equity, hedge fund, and/or media/entertainment/tech company in a strategy/business development/analytical role. Would it be great if you have worked in a highly demanding environment in which complex modeling and analysis is performed
  • Experience in the entertainment industry (having worked in a studio, production company, agency, or distributor) is a plus, though not required
  • Superb financial modeling skills and extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Strong communication/presentation skills with a track record of presenting complex analyses to executives/senior management clearly and concisely
  • The successful candidate must display, through attitude and accomplishments, a strong initiative for anticipating and meeting the business demands of senior-level business managers. He or she must thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results, and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics
  • Netflix is fast-growing with a flat organizational structure, which means that employees are often asked to perform tasks with a range of difficulties. Candidates must be motivated, disciplined, and be able to work effectively autonomously
  • Exceptional proficiency with MS Excel & PowerPoint; working knowledge of statistics and analysis packages
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or other relevant field would be ideal
  • Passion for entertainment and content with ideally a good knowledge of local shows from the region
  • Genuine passion and excitement for Netflix's unique culture
  • English and Spanish language fluency
