Summary
The manager will provide engineering leadership and representation at the site. Their primary role is to act as the liaison between Engineering, Execution, and Operations stakeholders. This individual will lead the coordination of Engineering deliverables for their site and project(s).

The key responsibility of this position is to monitor interdisciplinary dependencies and resolve all issues between CBI, the Engineering firm, and the General Contractor.

Manage design compliance and adherence to engineering standards and specifications.

Will assist in the review of bidding documents to ensure bids follow fair cost estimating, are complete and follow the design.

The manager will oversee the design schedules for all scopes of work on the site whether they are turn-key or design/build.

Will ensure the broader engineering organization is supporting typical project implementation processes such as Design Review Approvals (DRA's @ 30% / 60% / 90% / IFC / Bulletin levels) Shop Drawing reviews, and Request for Information (RFI) responses.

The manager will manage the overall project scope, and ensure that and/all scope changes get properly handled through Change Management.

The Manager will also guide and support the "Early Design Management" program for their site and projects. CBI Engineering is working to increase customer satisfaction by engaging our customer (brewery operations) early in the process.

We seek to review our designs in the early phases, giving the customer an opportunity to give feedback and influence the design to meet their long-term operational needs.

This position would capture all feedback and manage the "Request for Design Change" process. This role will help evolve the program, its deliverables, process, and program structure.
Responsibilities 1.

Broad ownership of engineering coordination across the project site (Brewing, Packaging, Utilities, Warehouse and Logistics, Architectural, Civil, Structural, Design Technology, Automation, and Digitalization).

2. Resolve project engineering issues and remove roadblocks between CBI, the Engineer of Record(s), and our General Contractor(s)
3.

Manage the Design development of the assigned projects, and provide weekly updates to Engineering Leadership and Stakeholders, informing of any issues affecting to the project schedule.

4. Coordinate and oversee the delivery of design releases in coordination with the sourcing calendar for capital projects
5. Facilitate the timely exchange of technical information, engineering standards & specifications, and project specific design documents with all stakeholders.
6. Support the procurement process by ensuring bids are complete and compliant
7. Partner with Budget and Estimating functions to forecast and manage cost of designs
8.

Implement and establish the proper means of communication and task tracking with all the stake holders across the project lifespan to avoid omissions, extra costs, or engineering design changes during the project construction.

9. Engage appropriate individual(s) that can resolve schedule impacting issues
10. Facilitate any special requirement of information from engineering
11. Review and comment on engineering deliverables for constructability at all levels of detail.
12. Provide advice and support to all project leadership throughout the project
13.

Responsible for the delivery and maintenance of project information such as:

  • Issue for Construction drawings
  • Bulletin drawings
  • as-built documentation
  • federated models
  • site specific masterplans
14. Support the evolution and optimization of CBI's "Early Design Management" Program
