The Role

Join us as a Senior Engineer on Search Discovery + BOE to enhance the shopping experience for Etsy buyers. If you're driven by product innovation and delivery, and enjoy helping users find the perfect item even when they struggle to describe it, then this role is for you.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Director, Trust & Safety. In addition to salary, you'll receive equity, an annual bonus, and competitive benefits as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

You'll need to be present at Etsy's Mexico City office once or twice a week, depending on your proximity. Candidates near the Mexico City office or in Guadalajara will be prioritized. Find more details about our work modes and safety policies here .

About the Team at Etsy

The Search Discovery + BOE team is part of the Search Experiences initiative, dedicated to enhancing matching between Buyers and Sellers. Our cross-functional team includes engineers, managers, designers, analysts, and researchers based in the US and Mexico. Our values include:

Daily Responsibilities

Take part in building solutions to help buyers discover items in Etsy's diverse inventory. Prototype, optimize, and scale product improvements, conduct A/B experiments, collaborate with various team members, participate in code reviews, and more.

Qualities for Success in this Role

  • 3 to 5 years of iOS development experience in a product-focused environment.
  • Proficiency in Swift and a willingness to work with Objective-C.
  • Experience with debugging, collaboration, version control, and product development.
  • Interest in new technologies and web performance.
  • Ability to solve problems, mentor others, communicate effectively, and care about product quality.
