MAIN PURPOSE
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution, tracking, delivery and closure of client projects. The Senior PM collaborates with the client to comprehend requirements and involves the global team in fulfilling these needs, creating client solutions based on the Welocalize Four Pillars of Customer Service, Quality, Innovation and Global Teamwork. The ideal candidate is a determined yet composed individual, adept at cultivating relationships across the entire project team, with the adaptability and vigor to thrive in a dynamic setting. It is essential to have experience in the localization industry, specifically within the Life Sciences vertical.Main Duties
  • Supervision and leadership of global teams (including internal and external, direct and indirect reports)
  • Preparation, analysis and implementation of project plans following the Welocalize standards for: Project Management, i.e. Project Start Standards, Workflow and Completion; updating project status, invoice approvals, updating client information, etc.
  • Creation and Management of project schedules
  • Creating project estimates and proposals for customer approval
  • Risk assessment and strategic planning of activities to minimize potential issues
  • Management of QA projects, incl. resource management, defect management, reporting, etc.
  • Collaborating on project and client objectives with other stakeholders
  • Development and preparation of process documents where needed
  • Operating with a medium level of support, incl. recognition and escalation in a timely manner of any issues beyond their control
  • Working with the production team to enhance project delivery and profitability
  • Establishing robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, colleagues in other departments, vendors, etc.
  • Building and maintaining solid relationships with customer contacts at the project level
  • Effective and timely communication with all involved stakeholders in the project(s), clients, production business units, etc.
  • Ensuring accuracy and currency of all finance systems data
  • Providing various reports including Weekly Project Status reports, Budget to Actual, Time Management, and Client/Vendor related issues to stakeholders.
  • Ensuring project profitability is upheld through margin management
  • Planning, preparing & running quarterly business reviews with clients in person
Measures of Success
  • Delivering services aligned with core KPIs for project management, encompassing:
  • client satisfaction;
  • on-time delivery;
  • cost control and profitability;
  • revenue throughput;
  • client growth.
Experience
  • Proven track record of Project Management in the localization industry, especially in the Life Sciences vertical
  • Experience working internationally or with international product development
  • Experience in a technology-related company
  • Successful management of large clients
  • Success in managing large accounts/projects
  • Proficient in authoring client documents such as SOWs, proposals, processes, and 'post mortems'
  • Active participation in process and idea development
  • Involvement in new client sales cycles, incl. presentations, analysis, recommendations, and relationship building
  • Managing financial budgets, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Familiarity with Translation Management Systems like GlobalSight, Idiom World Server, SDL TMS, etc.
Other Relevant Skills
  • Proven project management experience in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, preferably in translation or localization
  • Understanding of the translation industry and a strong interest in its technology, processes, competitive landscape, and emerging trends
  • Achievements in managing large accounts and/or projects
  • Inquisitiveness and innovation in questioning and enhancing existing processes
  • Expertise in process and idea innovation
  • Financial management proficiency and budget oversight
  • Customer relationship management and business development acumen for driving growth
  • Availability to travel for work commitments
Education Level
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a college or university in related field or relevant work experience.
