BPA Sr. Analyst

As a BPA Sr. Analyst supporting the R&D Finance Team, you will be accountable for obtaining goods/services required by the organization. The FP&A role focuses on short and long-term financial planning and/or business operations for assessing investments.

This includes Analysis of internal financial information, Analysis of future state operating & model costs, financial modeling to measure and forecast potential impacts of financial transactions, and data visualization and reporting.

The role will support the Associate Director of Finance, R&D & IT Strategy Director.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Execute data visualization reports and dashboards.
  • Support on the execution of month end process for certain R&D functions, demonstrating business understanding, curiosity, and conveying explanations and actions in an effective manner.
  • Liaison to Win IT financial management team and assist in variance analysis and journal entry preparation.
  • Assist in PO troubleshooting as needed.
  • Ensure adequate accounting, reporting, and control systems are in place to reach proper levels of forecast accuracy, to be able to identify and inform of potential risks and opportunities, and to ensure delivery of productivity targets.
  • Disciplined use of financial systems (ASPIRE, APMR, SAP, etc.) to manage and perform analytical analysis of financial results.
  • Ownership and accountability of data integrity
  • Identify, prioritize, and lead process improvements to drive value creation.
  • Support Associate Director of Finance R&D and IT Strategy Director on deliverables, including template design, adhoc analysis, etc.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • BS degree (5+ years of experience); MS degree (2+ years of experience) on finance or related
  • 34 years of experience in FP&A. Financial Training, Administration, Accounting or similar.
  • Proficient in financial systems SAP and BI, with ability to identify and retrieve cost information at a granular level.
  • Proficient in data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Prior finance operational experience with practical knowledge of relevant processes and shared service experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multinational, matrix organization
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills, along with quantitative, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Ability to critically review and improve initiative metrics
  • Problem solving mindset, with a strong passion for driving a simplification agenda
  • Ability to work in a demanding and resource constraint environment
  • Proven track record for achievement, resultsoriented
