About the role:
The primary focus of the Business Intelligence Engineer is to develop BI reports and dashboards using SQL, Snowflake (Snowsight), Looker, and Tableau. The ideal candidate has knowledge or experience writing SQL queries and developing data models in Snowflake, and creating workbooks, worksheets, and dashboards in Snowsight, Looker, and Tableau. Additionally, the Business Intelligence Engineer will ensure compliance with data security and governance policies, and own the administration of user and license management for BI platforms. The Business Intelligence Engineer will work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment to develop, maintain and support data analysis and reporting solutions. This role requires extensive hands on experience with report development and functional dashboards based using various tools (Power BI, SSRS, Crystal, Tableau, Looker, Excel, etc.), experience in data warehouse design and modelling according to established standards, and experience designing and building lists, crosstabs, graphs, scorecards, metrics, filters, prompts, standard reports and dashboards.

Develop database objects (tables, views, interactive worksheets and dashboards, etc.) within Snowflake and Snowsight based on business requirements Develop Looker dashboards, explores, data models (LookML), Persistent Derived Tables, etc. based on business requirements Develop Tableau artifacts (workbooks, dashboards, data sources, etc.) based on business requirements Reverse engineer legacy BI and reporting solutions (Looker, PowerBI, SSAS, Excel) and rebuild in Snowflake, Looker and/or Tableau based on business requirements Create logical and physical data model diagrams illustrating business processes and data flows from object and event driven perspectives in support of Zego's data democratization efforts Serve as Looker administrator, maintaining report schedules, extract and refresh cadences, role based access control, user license management, platform maintenance (patches, upgrades, migrations, etc.) Own and maintain data dictionary & catalog entries for all BI and reporting assets, including technical and business definitions Work with business stakeholders and/or data consumers to troubleshoot problems and/or define requirementsAbout you: (Qualifications)
Expertise in SQL development, including scripting/stored procedures Advanced experience in data model development 5+ years in Business Intelligence role, including hands on experience with two or more major BI platforms (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) Advanced experience in data analytics (time series, trending/forecasting, A/B cohort testing, etc.) Intermediate understanding of semi-structured datatypes (json, xml, etc.) Intermediate understanding of source control repository fundamentals (GIT, SVN, TFS) Intermediate understanding of agile development methodologyBonus points if you: (preferred qualifications)
Are familiar with data science concepts and AI/ML platforms Are familiar with ETL tools (dbt, Pentaho, SSIS) Have proven experience with query tuning and optimizationIn one month you'll:
