Lead and assure compliance of safety, environmental, quality, operational and optimization in cement operations, by providing technical, process and operational support on programmed or outstanding activities.

Guarantee assessment and plans are conducted to improve as well as train personnel in the cement operations department, promoting always a safe and engaging work place following CEMEX Standards.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Process Support to cement operations.
  • Lead process assessments to detect and improve pyro process conditions.
  • Optimize cement production lines.
  • Train process engineers in operations facilities.
  • Process support to expansion projects for new lines.
  • Coordinate and lead activities or projects in cement plants.
  • Evaluation of new technologies (kilns, bruners, preheaters, etc.)
  • Impact assessment of new alternative fuels in pyroprocess.

Position Challenges:

  • Develop heat and mass balance from the cement lines.
  • Manage and projects execution in cement plants on time scheduled.
  • Optimize main KPI's from cement industry.
  • Transfer process knowledge to new process engineers.
  • Develop control room operators with knowledge of cement process.
  • Communication skills in all the value chains.
  • Follow up to actions plans with all process engineers and operators from the cement plants.
  • Develop external relations with suppliers of technology or external contractors' companies.

Qualifications:

  • Languages skills required: English (Fluent), Spanish (Fluent) and other (third language is an advantage).
  • Academic background desirable is Chemical Engineer or Process Engineer (with a bachelor's degree). (Master's degree is an advantage).
  • Areas of expertise:
  • Cement industry at least 2 years in a company as process engineer (desirable), or supervisor, or operator inside the cement industry at least 2 years.
  • Technical Skills required by role.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing process in the cement industry.
  • Understanding of the process required in the different areas of the cement industry.
  • Soft Skills
  • Communication skills (oral / written form), Leadership, moderator, selfdriven, management and selfmotivated, able to develop networks in cement plants.
  • Multifunctional skills and able to be analytic, define, and solve any problems in the daily operation of the cement plants.

  • Peers and managers in Production technologies area.
  • Operators, process engineers, supervisors from the Cement plants.
  • Directors from cement plants.
  • Regional process engineers in the cement industry.

EXTERNAL

  • Technology suppliers.
  • Contractor's companies.
  • Research institutes or Universities to interact about new technologies.
