JOB SUMMARY

Manages all entertainment, events, and exhibits for a resort property, overseeing operational, financial, promotional, and communications aspects. Supervises the Special Events and Entertainment Staff.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • 4-year Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or related area plus 4 years' experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing.
  • 2-year graduate degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management or related field plus 2 years' experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Meetings and Events Operations and Budgets

  • Supervises the production of events, exhibits, and entertainment.
  • Drives revenue and monitors project schedules and budgets.
  • Prepares business plans, negotiates agreements, and ensures service standards are met.
  • Researches competition and leads brand service initiatives.

Leading Special Events and Entertainment Teams

  • Manages daily activities and staffing for events.
  • Coordinates with department leaders for a high-quality guest experience.
  • Communicates goals and ensures accountability for service behaviors.

Managing Profitability

  • Produces financial information and monitors project costs.
  • Encourages revenue generation and establishes vendor relationships for enhanced experiences.
  • Develops and achieves operating budgets and focuses on revenue growth.

Managing Human Resources Activities

  • Interviews, selects, and trains employees.
  • Evaluates performance and ensures safety and security.
  • Monitors attendance and supports employee development.
  • Conducts annual appraisals as per procedures.
