We are looking to hire a Supplier Development Engineer to join our team at Ramos Arizpe.

Position Summary:


The Supplier Development Engineer is responsible to perform supplier related activities surrounding supplier assessment, APQP, problem solving, and quality launches for new or modified products, in order to support and fulfill the requirements of internal and external customers, all while ensuring local adherence to global quality objectives and corporate standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Supports and complies with established Company's Corporate Principles and goals.
  • Understand and comply with Quality requirements such as automotive requirements
  • Provide technical expertise related to specific commodities in support of supplier readiness activities, such as technological feasibility studies, evaluation of suppliers, discussion, and definition of criteria for the approved supplier list.
  • Provide technical expertise related to specific commodities in support of supplier audits and problem solving/escalation.
  • Develop and maintain documents and procedures related to quality standards, risk analysis, lessons learned from product recalls, product audits, field returns and repairs, complaints, scrap, and rework, and retain documented information as evidence.
  • Interpret prints and measurement tools (GD&T).
  • Utilize basic quality tools along with problem solving and lean manufacturing techniques in the support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions promoting lessons learned process at suppliers.
  • Perform activities in coordination with other departments, effectively respond and communicate in a timely manner. Developing and maintaining productive working relationships.
  • Participate in crossfunctional working groups and assist the conclusion of activities.
  • Initiate, complete, and ensure proper conformity of engineering changes to quality standards.
  • Trigger additional escalation levels as needed in order to protect internal and external customer.
  • Have an auditor perspective including being part of the solution.
  • Work on other duties and special projects as it relates to the position.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 56 years of professional experience in Quality, Production, Logistics, Cost/Process Planning.
  • Extensive expert knowledge of production methods of one or more commodities.
  • Strong functional/product knowledge in problem solving methodology and techniques.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Proven ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proven creativity and analytical methods (i.e. Six Sigma) with a highlevel of attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive quality core tools, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), PFMEA, and Control Plans, GR&R and MSA.
  • Ability to interface with crossfunctional teams and all levels of personnel and management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent English language competency both written and verbal.
  • Excellent presentation skills
