About your role
As the Head of Credit Risk, your primary mission is ensuring the safety and soundness of our loan portfolio.

You will be responsible for managing one of our most important business KPIs: the default rate of our portfolio.

Your primary mission will be to identify and mitigate external and internal risk factors that could negatively impact the profitability of our loan portfolio.

In this role, you will lead a talented technical team and direct them in implementing a robust monitoring framework.

This framework will track the performance of our credit risk models and the integrity of our data pipelines and infrastructure.

You will be responsible for overseeing the development, testing, and implementation of monitoring processes, fallback solutions, and contingency plans to deal with any emerging risk factors.

To ensure that our loan origination policies are protected, you will establish standard procedures that follow best industry practices.

You will also make recommendations based on objective data to modify our loan policies in such a way as to improve the health of our loan portfolio.


You will work closely with operations, marketing, and legal to ensure that our credit risk policies and procedures comply with regulatory requirements and align with our business strategy.


As the Head of Credit Risk, your role will be critical in helping us achieve our mission of becoming the most inclusive bank in LATAM.


Outcomes

  • Oversee the performance of the credit risk models developed by our data team in a manner that ensures a profitable and sustainable loan portfolio.
  • Work with product and data teams to constantly monitor and improve data quality via the integrity of our data processing pipelines by implementing best practices and identifying process improvements.
  • Monitor and predict the performance of credit risk models so that as a business we remain efficient at managing risk and can rely on shortterm portfolio predictions to make key business decisions.
  • Ensure that our credit risk policies and procedures comply with regulatory requirements and align with our business strategy, sharing your expertise with the rest of the leadership team with a strong focus on risk management.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the credit risk engineering team, fostering a culture of datadriven decisionmaking and high ownership.

Day to day

  • Monitoring and improving the quality of data processing pipelines, identifying process improvements, and implementing best practices to minimize data integrity issues that could impact the accuracy of credit risk models.
  • Developing and maintaining a framework for credit risk monitoring, including early warning indicators, risk appetite limits, and stress testing scenarios.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining an extensive monitoring framework to track the performance of data infrastructure components in realtime, giving us the ability to react quickly with contingency plans when risks materialize.
  • Ensuring that credit risk policies and procedures are uptodate, correctly implemented, and well documented in internal and external documentation, and conducting periodic reviews and testing to assess their effectiveness.
  • Conducting regular risk assessments to identify external and internal factors that could impact the profitability of our loan portfolio, and developing strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Staying uptodate with industry trends and best practices in credit risk management, and continuously seeking to improve the credit risk infrastructure.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to the credit risk engineering team, fostering a culture of datadriven decisionmaking and high ownership, and working to build a talented and cohesive team.
  • Working with the rest of the leadership team to communicate the performance of the loan portfolio, highlighting potential risks, and opportunities for growth.

  • At least
    three years of experience managing the
    credit risk area, including developing and implementing credit risk management strategies.w
  • Intermediate level of
    SQL and willingness to keep developing said skill.
  • Indepth knowledge of
    credit risk management principles, including
    credit scoring,
    portfolio management, and
    stress testing.
  • Ability to build and lead a highperforming
    credit risk team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in both
    English and
    Spanish, with the ability to explain complex concepts to nontec
