Implements and executes test plans for Turnitin's suite of products throughout the full software lifecycle. Works within an agile team to develop and measure quality assurance standards. Maintains and expands test case suite. Publishes test results. Helps triage bugs, compose acceptance criteria for stories, and mentors fellow teammates on quality engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the product team to define, develop and implement quality assurance best practices and procedures: test strategies, test plans, test cases, and other qualityrelated assessments for their scrum team.
  • Participates in all aspects of testing; including functional, regression and integration.
  • Works collaboratively with their scrum team during all project stages to provide inprocess testing results.
  • Design, write, execute, and maintain manual tests.
  • Augment development teams with enhancing unit and integration tests.
  • Perform root cause analysis for issues reported by users and uncovered by test results.
  • Investigate, record, triage and track defects, and verify their fixes.
  • Participates in major code releases as required.
  • Stays uptodate with new testing tools and test strategies.

Qualifications Required**- Passion for building solutions, driven by innovation and commitment to lifelong learning.

  • Strong analysis, debugging/troubleshooting, and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English language.
  • Experience on all stages of the testing process, with the ability to create test plans, strategies, reports and manage defects until their closure.
  • Selfsufficiency, have the ability to work independently.
  • Selfmotivated and proactive with a passion for quality software.

Nice to Have

  • Handson experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman.
  • Knowledge of one or more programming and/or scripting languages: Java, Python, Javascript/Typescript.
  • Handson experience with automated UI testing.
  • Knowledge on CI/CD (Git, Jenkins).
  • Knowledge on Agile methodology.
  • Accessibility testing experience.
  • Performance testing experience.
  • Familiarity with security testing tools and techniques.
