Underthe direct direction of the Plant Manager, the Quality Manager will manage thesupport functions related to quality for the pressing operation processes ofdeep drawn stainless steel sinks, the APG molding process, and stainlessfabrication processes.
QualityManagement: To direct the Quality function this position will be responsiblefor all objectives established by the Plant Manager and Corporate Quality toensure highest quality of product. For New Product release and related documentation,the Quality Manager will develop the necessary information to representmarketing, engineering, and the customer on product requirements. The Quality Manager will lead improvementsthrough KOS, problem solving with the necessary tools trained (six sigma, spcetc) and administer a safe work environment in this 24/7 operation in Reynosa Mexico
New Product/Process Development
Develop control plans, assist withPFMEA, FMEA and capability studies for new equipment and processes. Manage quality planning activities forincoming raw materials for new and existing processes.
Existing Processes
Maintain tooling availability forproduction using robust designs to prevent loss of productivity due tocatastrophic failures.
Implement preventative maintenanceprograms based on numeric data and tracking to assure consistent productpresentation for polishing operations and compliance with productengineering specifications. Verifywith quality audit data.
Production Planning, Scheduling and StaffingSupport – as part of the production team, support scheduling inputs, pressdie change plans and required staffing support and head count planning.
Provide multi-shift technical supportfor pressing operations, quality functions and die maintenance.
Manage the calibration program andvendor selection as needed.
Provide planning and strategies forenvironmental, safety and local regulations for indirect process relatedconsumables as applicable to the manufacture of stainless steel sinks. Support research and testing for suchconsumables and implementation strategies.
Comply with same budget strategy forquality and inspection.
Provide career development as identifiedfor subordinates to develop key associate growth potentials.
Provide technical support to otherdivisions within the Kohler Company as required. Lead or provide technical support forthe development of company engineering standards.
Internal Quality: Establish metrics andplanning for internal provider/customer relationships between departmentsand analyze and report trends.Report as required by corporate quality yields and other data asrequired.
Manage internal processdeviation program.
Regularly reviewAOQL sample and lot sizes for appropriate auditing relative to processcapability.
Develop the appropriate measures,systems, and personnel to manage the adherence of processes within theplant to the documented Quality System. Define measure equipmentcapability and data gathering systems on processes.
Attract and hireskilled technical personnel capable of diagnostic and problem solving.
Manage incoming inspection program tocomponent specification, and assist in the qualification of new vendors.Support purchasing. Act as liaisonfor corporate supplier quality.Manage QM/SAP reporting functions.
Customer Complaints/Warranty/TrendAnalysis/CCU/UFR using CRM PolyVista database reporting.
Manage related corrective actions,external deviations, and compliance issues. Assure that corrective actions areeffective and timely.
Act as liaison for external listingagencies and audit functions.Prepare and lead all external audit functions and support futurerequirements.
Comply with corporate requirements forPWA, LCA and Layered Audit programs.Maintain and review a financially appropriate staffing level tosupport these functions.
Skills/Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE BACKGROUND
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration,Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Technology and/ or a minimumof 10 years of quality or engineering experience in a manufacturingenvironment, with evidence of continued education in technical problem solvingtechniques. Minimum of 5 yearsmanagement experience and ability to travel abroad. Familiarity with ISO/TSpractices. Effective written and oral communications skills Spanish requiredwith conversation English capability. Must have computer MS Office (Mini-Tab orequal, SAP a plus), demonstrated budget management, and proven leadership in acompetitive - fast paced manufacturing environment
