Job Description

  • The Design and Release Engineer will be in charge of designing, developing, and releasing body exterior components like moldings, badges, decals, and vents from the initial design concept to full volume production.
  • Responsibilities will involve collaborating with the product design office, vehicle development, other Exterior and Body Engineering teams, and suppliers to design, develop, and release these components.
  • The Engineer will offer feasibility input for designs' development from Product Design Office (PDO) concepts, sketches, and clay models. They will establish and manage the development timeline for the project's lifecycle.
  • The Engineer will set functional objectives, build objectives, DVP&R, and DFMEA. They will also oversee the release of completed geometry using NX Teamcenter CAD tools.
  • The Engineer must be available for meetings during NA work hours and work closely with local engineering teams, Architecture/Vehicle Concepts, program science teams & PDO with iterative models to align with all packaging, functional objectives, and system requirements.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • One year of engineering experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in setting and assessing customer (internal/external) level requirements, constructing component and full vehicle DVP&R
  • Experience with defining functional objectives and constructing DFMEA
  • Experience with NX, Teamcenter, and change management processes
  • Ability to construct work plans to resolve issues
  • Ability to lead teams, determine gaps to targets, and develop solutions
  • Three years of product development experience
  • Experience with engineering plastic Class A components
  • Ability to reach consensus on complicated issues
  • Ability to resolve conflicting requirements across multiple organizations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer software skills
