TelevisaUnivision is looking for a skilled Social Media Producer based in Mexico with a passion for US Hispanic news. The main responsibility of the Social Media Producer is to create engaging content for social media news accounts and maximize audience interaction. This role involves collaborating with Executive Producers of on-air shows to produce compelling content and boost traffic to official websites, increasing audience awareness of these programs.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing relevant stories and opportunities for the Digital News editorial team. The producer will actively use platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok on a daily basis. We are seeking a strategic and creative thinker, a self-starter, and a collaborative individual willing to learn and exchange ideas.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Adapt content from television and the main Univision digital site for various social media platforms.
  • Create and assist in producing original content tailored for each social media channel.
  • Stay updated on online trends, find sources, and identify engaging topics for digital news stories.
  • Collaborate closely with editors to determine the most relevant content for our audience.
  • Explore new formats for social media content creation.
  • Interact with the audience by engaging in social conversations.
  • Promote, distribute, and expand the reach of assigned content beyond the main site.
  • Demonstrate outstanding Spanish writing skills: craft error-free copy for social media platforms and script social media videos.
  • Post in real-time and schedule content for Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook.
  • Create graphics in various formats for social media.
  • Support the main TV production team in initiatives.
  • Be familiar with social media tools like Sprout Social and Business Manager.
  • Proficient in Photoshop and Premiere for design purposes.
  • Available to assist during both work and off-hours for breaking news events, including weekends.

YOU HAVE:

  • College Degree or equivalent experience in Broadcast Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in a significant news market.
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of social media platforms.
  • Effective communication in written and video formats.
  • Fluency in Spanish (native) and English (fluent).
  • Exceptional Spanish writing skills.
