SUMMARY

The Tooling Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing optimal stamping manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.

Also supports manufacturing launch of new or revised products and manages the current resources such as too such as tools, material (metal), miscellaneous, as well support to technicians, to assure they have achieved operational excellence all in compliance with Electrolux Code of Conduct.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (What you will do)

  • Work, practice and teach technicians in safe manner.
  • Coordinate Maintenance Leaders, Technicians and activities for developing and implementing optimal PM, PdM and CM to stamping tools (Die's).
  • Responsible of predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance to all equipment on shop.
  • Develop procedures, reports, process sheets, matrix presstool, etc
  • Coordinate with Production Manager and Production Supervisors for scheduling of work priorities for tools such as Corrective and Preventive Maintenance in house and out.
  • Able to multitask many meetings, projects related to tooling conditions.
  • Maintain updated inventories of all shipped and receiving tools in house and out.
  • Teach and lead Tool room technicians and leaders in the practices of safe machining practices.
  • Must be able to read and interpret 3D 2D and print drawings.
  • Evaluates and solves production problems associated to stamping process and/or methods. Implements root cause analysis and engages manufacturing associates and technicians in problem solving techniques (EMS tools).
  • Direct interaction whit Industrial and Maintenance Engineers to maintain OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) goals in established standards.
  • Responsible for quoting, sending, tracking lead time, cost, and issuing PO's to various Tool shops.
  • Support validation / launch for New, Revised and ECR tools.
  • Responsible for attainment of operational, quality and functional goals as defined by the plant management, including execution of ISO 9001 and 14001 standards and EMS
  • Responsible to realize an efficient multitask jobs and get the plant goals:
o Responsible to comply the Preventive Maintenance, higher to 90%
- o Responsible to maintain the tools availability higher to 95%
- o Support all CapEx activities (annual plan, projects, etc)

The activities to be carried out include the following environmental information, indicated but not limited to:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the environmental policy of the plant, which must follow and promote, including established environmental goals as well as knowledge and identification of environmental aspects and impacts of activities in its area or process, the approach to continuous improvement, maintaining required operational controls, proper handling, identification and segregation of chemical materials and waste.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree: Mechanical Electromechanical
  • Industrial Eng.
  • Previous experience of 5 years supervising Tool Room personnel / activities.
  • Experience on Manual, Progressives and Transfer tools (maintenance and repair)
  • Knowledge of machining fabrication techniques
  • Must understand steel properties for Stamping Tools, replacement components and repairs.
  • Technical knowledge, use and purpose or machinery such as Mills, Grinders, CNC's, Wire, Lathe.
  • English 80% or higher
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Autocad, Solid Works, GD&T,
  • Experience whit high tonnage presses (150 to 1500 tons)
  • Experience in driving implementation of cont. improvement (EMS),and 5S programs.

  • Must have experience in purchasing Tool room equipment's, tools, spare parts, documenting machine assets tags, repairs and cost logs.
