The Compliance Business Control Officer plays a key role in staying updated on industry developments and contributing to the strategic direction by applying these insights to their role and the organization. They are a recognized expert in a specific area of the business, possessing essential commercial knowledge. Communication and diplomacy skills are crucial for guiding and influencing colleagues and occasional external partners. Their work significantly impacts the department through handling complex deliverables, offering advice on business operations and technology, and ensuring adherence to regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to developing, maintaining, and implementing enterprise-wide standards and strategies for enhancing the Bank's Global AML Monitoring program.
  • Provide guidance on AML matters to global partners, collaborate with AML Operations and Technology, and drive projects to advance the Monitoring Risk Management Program.
  • Manage the framework for AML regulations and risks assessment, identify emerging risks, and establish monitoring controls.
  • Lead Global Monitoring Risk Management & Policy strategic program implementations.
  • Operate independently with limited supervision, act as subject matter expert to stakeholders, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of AML experience in financial services with expertise in AML Transaction Monitoring and Risk Assessment.
  • Demonstrated management experience and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in enforcing global consistency using databases and tracking tools.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, ability to collaborate across departments and present to senior management.
  • Required Licensing/Registration: Series 7, Series 24.

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree.

Mitigate risks affecting the area, manage Issue Management, and ensure compliance with policies. The Compliance and Control Officer's primary role is to prevent risks from materializing through effective policy implementation and audit processes.

Compliance and Control Officer responsibilities:

  • Identify and Mitigate risks affecting the organization, oversee issue management, and conduct audits to prevent risks.
  • Provide oversight to enhance control processes and monitoring for risk identification.
  • Team management and leadership skills are essential.
  • Act as a liaison with the Office of Governance and Control and other Lines of Defense.
  • Create strategies to enhance collaboration across different areas of the business.
  • Improve communication among various departments.
  • Develop and track metrics for management reporting and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Participate in audits and reviews, represent during senior-level meetings, and ensure correct risk evaluations.
  • Lead the team in developing control processes, strategic planning, and goal follow-up.
  • Ensure decisions protect clients and assets and increase the team's efficiency.
