We are currently seeking a skilled and dynamic Risk and Insurance Manager to join our team.

As the Risk and Insurance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of risk management within the organization, safeguarding its employees, reputation, assets, and the interests of both internal and external stakeholders. Key areas of focus include corporate governance, insurance, information security, regulatory compliance, and operational risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and spearhead a comprehensive global risk management strategy for the organization.
  • Assist the Executive Board in fostering a culture of risk awareness.
  • Determine and quantify the organization's 'risk appetite' and ensure that the risk approach aligns accordingly.
  • Review insurance policies to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of coverage and policy documents, providing recommendations where necessary.
  • Participate in the development, analysis, placement, monitoring, and renewal of insurance policies and risk transfer strategies, ensuring adequate protection of company assets.
  • Lead various intricate insurance placements, including those involving captives.
  • Conduct the necessary technical analyses to support significant claims.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while addressing risk-based challenges in a pragmatic and commercial manner, offering suitable solutions.
  • Oversee, inspire, and lead the Risk and Compliance team to enhance effectiveness.
  • Keep senior management informed of regulatory changes, legislative updates, and best practices, highlighting their responsibilities under these changes and the impacts on the organization.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management and other relevant stakeholders, detailing any pertinent issues or information as needed.
  • Manage and coordinate the In-house Counsel team.
  • Undertake internal audits, including coordination with external auditors.
  • Offer proactive and practical regulatory guidance to business leaders and support functions.
  • Ensure the successful execution of compliance projects, ensuring technical excellence and a business-driven approach. Provide support and leadership on Group projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to understand project requirements, establish effective working relationships during project implementation.
  • Experience navigating regulatory environments both domestically and internationally across all service lines.
  • Demonstrate a broad technical knowledge and expertise in business conduct, corporate governance, and regulatory risk matters.
  • Apply a practical and commercial approach to problem-solving.
  • Demonstrate a track record of enhancing process efficiency.
  • Lead and inspire a diverse, specialized team across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Possess extensive experience in the Mexican regulatory landscape.
  • Capable of generating and delivering effective presentations and training sessions.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or legal studies (Master's degree preferred).
  • Hold international certifications in risk management and/or anti-money laundering, such as CIRM, CRCM, ICM, CAMS, and CFCS.
  • 5+ years of experience in a risk management leadership role or senior management position.
  • Familiarity with the insurance industry and regulatory framework.
