About the Site

The Los Ramones Energy Center is a nominal 604 MW simple cycle power generation facility using GE 7HA.02 Turbines. The facility is in Los Ramones municipality, Nuevo Leon State.

Position Overview


The Field Operator Technician supports Control Room Operator to perform local equipment maneuvers as well as to maintain a continuous surveillance of them.

The required knowledge is used to analyze the current operations parameters and to perform troubleshooting during and after any disturbance in order to minimize the consequences, and the communication with Control Room and Maintenance areas is required as skill as the decision taker to prevent further damages.

Also, is capable to follow OEM procedures as well as adapt them to new conditions. Also, the accomplish and following of KPI's is required skill. This position requires highly flexible individuals that work various shift schedules in a team environment. Invenergy will train extensively in the operations area to compliment your skills. These skills are not limited to mentioned before.

Responsibilities:

  • The Field Operator Technician will be a team player performing operation in fulfilment with control room operator indications as well as the local conditions of the equipment, support to achieve safe, and costeffective operation of the Los Ramones Energy Center.
  • Support operations of the facility with local maneuvers during startup, shutdown, normal and emergency conditions in accordance with operating procedures and instructions to maintain a safe and efficient operation, as well as report the conditions of the equipment to Control Room Operator maintaining a proficient communication.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot systems in a power generation facility based on procedures.
  • Perform actions aimed at achieving the proposed technical and economic KPI's.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis as well as incident reports for the plant disturbances and near misses.
  • Perform/direct housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean safe work environment and professional appearance.
  • Detect improvement opportunities in the technical documentation in order to perform updates.
  • Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures.
  • Perform routinely rounds in order to build a comprehensive data base of the local readings and conditions of equipment.
  • Perform scheduled testing recommended by OEM in order to guaranty the correct functionality of the equipment.
  • Participate in the safety brigades and in the scheduled drills to maintain the safety drills available in case of emergency.

Required Skills:

  • Education in plant operations or any bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical or instrument and controls).
  • Experience in electric generating engines is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Each technician will perform various degrees of both operations and maintenance.
  • Some English language skills is beneficial.
