FM Global Claims Latin America Operations is looking for a Claims Adjuster. This position will be based in Monterrey.

This is an office-based position that will require in office presence. International and domestic travel will be required based on business needs.

The Claims Adjuster investigates, resolves, and settles claims within their assigned authority in an equitable manner to the satisfaction of the client and FM Global in accordance with policy terms and conditions. This position provides direction and assistance to the client with loss mitigation, salvage, restoration of production, claims preparation and subrogation. In addition, the incumbent retains, manages and controls internal and external consultants, as needed.

The Claims Adjuster is assigned losses, including a high volume of Property Damage, up to $500,000 without a supervisor and as the lead adjuster on losses up to $1,000,000, with supervision, that occur within the Operations geographical area, or as otherwise directed by the Operations Claims Manager.

Consults with the Insured's management and offers FM Global assistance in loss mitigation, salvage, restoration of production and claims preparation. In addition to seeking assistance within FM Global, in consultation with a supervisor, the incumbent is authorized to engage recognized independent accountants, consultants, engineers or salvage experts. They are also responsible for identifying legal needs, and with the approval of the Operations Claims Manager also recommends engagement of attorneys where subrogation is involved. Negotiates with the Insured to reconcile differences of opinion about the extent of loss and/or coverage to reach a quick, equitable and fair settlement as promptly as possible. When a loss is settled, initiates the payment process for review and approval by the Supervisor, Operations Claims Manager and/or others. Adheres to Fair Claims Handling requirements relating to claim investigations and payments as outlined in the state/provincial manuals and FM Global Claims operating requirements. The incumbent keeps the insured and FM Global claims offices advised of progress of losses being handled via timely letters and memos. Disagreements relating to coverage and measurement disputes shall be brought to the attention of the Operations Claims Manager Written for review and action. Education: Bachelor's degree required

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the insurance industry handling complex commercial property losses

Experience as a field adjuster a plus

Schedule: The position is office based with required field work. The candidate must be willing to travel, sometimes with short notice, and work out of town as needed to effectively manage assigned losses.

Candidate must have experience with the following..

Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and Spanish. Portuguese is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills including negotiating and consulting. Must be organized and possess the ability to make quick and sound recommendations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
