The Leadership Development Program: Embark on a transformative 24-month journey across 1-2 of Birdman's pivotal business functions:

This program is your gateway to mastering a diverse skill set—from developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance brand presence and drive product innovation, to leading strategic financial planning and navigating complex international expansion efforts. Participants will dive into the intricacies of managing cross-border financial operations, optimizing budgets, and spearheading commercial strategies that ensure profitability and market penetration. Additionally, the program offers the opportunity to shape Birdman's global sales framework, managing key relationships and optimizing revenue through targeted trade marketing and effective pricing strategies. Designed for ambitious individuals aiming to become future leaders, this program promises hands-on experience in driving Birdman's mission for a healthier world, preparing participants for impactful leadership roles upon graduation.

Potential Projects/Responsibilities:

  • Finance and Administration​
    • Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the development of comprehensive financial models and forecasts that support Birdman's strategic decision-making and international expansion efforts.​
    • Budget Management and Cost Control: Manage and optimize budgets across international projects, implementing cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency and profitability.​
    • Risk Management and Mitigation: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with international expansion, ensuring robust contingency plans are in place.​
    • Cross-Border Financial Operations: Oversee and streamline Birdman's financial operations across different countries, including currency management, tax planning, and compliance with international financial reporting standards.​
    • Capital Raising and Investment Strategy: Support capital raising efforts and investment strategy formulation for new market entries, working closely with external investors and internal stakeholders to secure funding.​
    • Operational Excellence and Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in financial and administrative processes, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in a fast-paced, international environment.​
  • Sales and Commercial Strategy (Multi-country)
    • Broker and Retailer Relationship Management: Foster and maintain strong relationships with brokers and retailers, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy in financial dealings.​
    • Revenue Optimization: Oversee revenue operations, focusing on optimizing spend and managing invoices to maximize profitability.​
    • Trade Marketing Oversight: Direct trade marketing efforts to bolster brand presence and sales at the retailer level.​
    • Route to market and Order Management: Coordinate logistics and control purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate product delivery to international markets.​
    • Pricing Strategy Development: Devise pricing and sizing strategies to align with market demand and competitive landscapes, enhancing market penetration and revenue growth.​
    • Strategy Implementation: Implement overarching strategic initiatives related to product distribution and market entry, adapting to diverse market needs and challenges.
  • Marketing and Branding
    • Brand Management. Enhance brand distinctiveness, relevance, and presence in the market through the development of comprehensive marketing strategies for existing brand lines. ​
    • Product Development and Innovation. Drive successful product innovation and launches by developing comprehensive marketing plans and launch dashboards for new product developments​
    • Consumer Insights and Media. Maximize the effectiveness of media spend on digital channels by leveraging consumer trends and insights.​
    • Digital Marketing: Manage social media, influencer marketing, and digital campaigns while optimizing online presence.​
    • Public Relations and Events Management: Manage media relations and corporate communications. Plan and execute marketing events and activations.​
    • Trade Marketing. Develop strategies to enhance brand presence and sales in point of sale
  • Strategy and International Expansion:
    • Project Management Excellence: Oversee cross-functional project teams to ensure timely and efficient execution of international expansion efforts, from inception through to market launch.​
    • Strategic Market Analysis: Lead in-depth research and analysis of new markets, identifying key trends, competitive landscapes, and market entry strategies to inform Birdman's global expansion plans.​
    • Commercial Strategy Development: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement effective commercial strategies tailored to each new market, driving growth and establishing a strong market presence.​
    • Stakeholder Engagement and Negotiation: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local government officials and business partners (distributors, retailers, logistics, etc). Negotiating terms that align with Birdman's strategic goals.​
    • Regulatory Compliance Mastery: Navigate the complex web of international regulations and compliance standards, ensuring Birdman's operations and products are fully compliant in each new market before launch.​
    • Incorporation and Legal Framework Setup: Coordinate with legal teams to establish Birdman's legal presence in new markets, including incorporation, tax strategy, and compliance with local business regulations.

Requirements

Basic:

  • Master's Degree. MBA preferred. Top GPA valued.
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic business development, consulting, general management, or a related field. Experience in the food and beverage industry is a plus.
  • Alternatively, a top GPA MBA graduate from a top Business School and or senior experience at a top employer such as Amazon, Google, or a top consulting firm.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to identify and capitalize on emerging business opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, market research, and industry reports to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Full-English professional proficiency.
  • Advanced Excel and Analytics skills.
  • Great presentation and drafting skills.
  • Process orientation and intellectual curiosity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with project management tools and methods.
  • A passion for business turnarounds and having an impact.
  • Must have a track record of high achieving either at school, professionally or extracurricular.
