Tactical Buyer / Coordinator

Description

Job Summary
This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth procurement of goods and services necessary for the organization's operations, contributing significantly to the procurement function's success. The individual in this role maintains effective communication with suppliers, negotiates contracts to minimize costs, and collaborates with internal and external teams to optimize operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide procurement support for a variety of commodities and technologies, developing expertise in the process.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve business objectives while ensuring compliance.
  • Complete assigned tasks aligning with overall strategy, utilizing experience and judgment.
  • Identify areas for improvement and participate in procurement initiatives to meet performance metrics.
  • Work with business owners to onboard vendors, manage requisitions, and oversee orders.
  • Facilitate clear communication with suppliers, ensuring understanding of standards, budgets, and expectations.
  • Negotiate contracts with low-risk suppliers and oversee day-to-day operations with low-complexity suppliers.
  • Implement strategies for risk mitigation, cost management, and business continuity.
  • Offer comprehensive training and support related to procurement processes to various teams within the organization.

Education & Experience

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience desired, or an advanced degree with limited experience.

Preferred Certifications

  • Certified In Production And Inventory Management
  • Certified Professional In Supply Management
