As a Regional Technical Director Architectural Coatings, you will be part of the Global Architectural and Traffic Solutions Leadership team and a part of the LATAM business leadership team.

Lead a diverse, color experts, product development and customer support experts in managing the technical function's delivery of new products, color to customer, and other customer support activities.

You will work as part of a global team to generate insights from PPG's global expertise, technology, and best practices regionally to further LATAM's position as a world class solution provider to the architectural industry and to the Traffic Solutions in Mexico and Central America.

You will report directly to the Global Technical Director and functionally to the Latin American Business Vice-President.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product pipeline execution, product launches, customer engagement and influencing, specification and qualification testing, customer and regulatory approvals, application testing, competitive benchmarking, troubleshooting, formula cost reduction, complexity reduction (raw material & finished goods), and sharing of technologies and resources cross-SBUs in PPG and LATAM.
  • Ensure successful project development and continuity with the LATAM business strategy while establishing capabilities and establishing resources to complete activities on time and in full.
  • Manage a product portfolio process, creating the business case for change and elevating capability through the introduction of new technologies while responding to a regulatory, and consumer-focused market.
  • You will be responsible the implementation of innovations and sustainability aligned to the business strategy that can support company growth and leadership.
  • Develop partnerships with the product management team while demonstrating courage in the role.
  • Establish the technology strategy in each subregions (Mexico, Central America and South America).
  • Instills and fosters a climate that promotes approaches to project(s) objectives for each region.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience leading diverse teams in technical management roles.
  • Master degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • Technical expertise and capability to lead and energize a complex, multi-site organization.
  • Complexity management abilities, and customer awareness are required, as is an understanding of the intellectual property landscape, products portfolio, trends, and regulatory environment.
  • Deep customer knowledge, interface with executives, and inspirational leadership with employees.
  • Work externally with customers, partners, alliances, and main team members.
  • Partnership and to work with research, product management, procurement, manufacturing, and other responsibilities.
  • Fluent English.
