What you can expect:

Responsibilities:

Engage in operational management of Linux systems, executing UNIX commands

Provide Tier III administrative and support as per project requirements; investigate and troubleshoot issues; conduct regular log analysis and security monitoring to detect intrusions

Plan and execute major version upgrades of Application Server such as Tomcat, Apache Web Server, etc.

Offer on-call rotational production technical support, handle severity level 1 issues, and implement changes via change controls, as well as contribute to production issue resolution

Analyze and optimize server parameters (JVM Size, Thread pool size, Garbage Collection Process etc.) for improved performance

Support operational excellence by identifying ongoing operational issues, conducting root-cause analyses on system outages, and devising remediation plans. Collaborate with Problem Management on implementing Service Improvement Programs

Define the design and implementation of new technologies or software version upgrades to the highest quality standards. Recommend leveraging new features/functions of upgraded software, DR design, implementation, and testing

Create and maintain technical documentation like knowledge base articles, infrastructure diagrams, and FAQs

Perform routine housekeeping and health monitoring. Write Linux/UNIX Shell Scripts as necessary for monitoring, automating tasks, etc.

Flexibility in working hours required due to the role’s nature of providing 24x5 weekdays support and weekend On-Call support on a rotational basis

Assist in compiling and submitting infrastructure-related requests such as DNS registration, SSL certificates, etc.

Support and resolve issues such as container recycles, disk space problems, process hang-ups, port conflicts, logs archiving, SSL certificate management, etc., on Linux platforms

Availability to work weekends for releases and maintenance support when needed

Requirements:

Hands-on experience in server administration within a corporate environment

Minimum 3 years in REHL systems, public cloud (Azure/AWS) console management

Solid understanding of Windows servers

Experience in macro set up in Excel

Good understanding of 3-tier or high availability application architecture

Working experience and understanding of network topology

Extensive knowledge of F5 Load Balancer, Firewalls, DNS, etc.

Knowledge of Oracle iPlanet, WebLogic, and other related J2EE Web/App Servers

Task-oriented with multitasking ability

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong coordination of tasks and providing status updates

Preferred Skills:

Experience with incident management and change management tools like ServiceNow

Documentation experience in application architecture and production environment

Familiarity with application and server monitoring tools e.g., AlertSite, App Dynamics, etc.

Understanding of Security vulnerabilities of web-based applications and their remediation techniques

Knowledge of SharePoint, Qlik, Atlassian Wiki, and JIRA applications
