As a Developer I at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will have the chance to greatly influence our organization's efficiency and strategic direction. Join our Engineering team and play a crucial role in using technology to transform complex legal processes throughout all Groups and Divisions. You will use your knowledge of AI technologies to simplify large amounts of legal department data into user-friendly solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the company's success and help us maintain our industry-leading position.

What will you do?

In this role, you will work closely with the Sr. Manager of Legal Operations, various members of the Legal department, and the Generative AI team. Together, you will create and maintain applications that use artificial intelligence to improve efficiency in the Legal department. Your tasks will involve designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supervising applications for our Generative Artificial Intelligence initiatives. Additionally, you will be able to work on Power BI development, data analytics, and data presentation. As a Developer I, you will not only chip in to technical development work but also participate in strategic operational planning, allowing you to share your findings with important individuals in the organization.

• Be the main liaison for the Legal Department to bring concepts and ideas to life within AI applications.
• Take concepts and ideas from the legal department and develop applications from both supervised and unsupervised data to increase while also helping productivity.
• Develop and maintain AWS Lex based chatbots for Legal.
• Showcase the capability to deliver projects within designated timelines and effectively handle various tasks simultaneously.
• Conenct with appropriate level of technical know-how based on the knowledge of customer.
• Work with existing Legal Applications to bring third party AI solutions into practice.

• 3+ years of experience in full stack development
• 2+ years of solid hands-on experience with OOP (Java and/or Python) strongly preferred
• 1+ years of solid hands-on experience with Angular, React, or similar technologies strongly preferred
• 1+ years of experience with AWS Cloud Services such as S3, CloudFront, EKS, RDS, CloudWatch
• Experience using Github
• Emphasis on a solid focus on Development (TDD)
• Power BI and DAX coding experience preferred
• Self-motivated with a keen interest in staying updated with the latest AI trends and technologies
• Strong drive to find solutions through continuous learning and problem-solving
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work within a team, multi-task with good follow-through skills, and communicate optimally
• Ability to work well in a team as well as alone to accomplish tasks without supervision

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or similar technical fields is required. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
