Responsibilities

The Opportunity:

R&D Region Manager

Lead R&D development and execution for the Energy and Hydration categories for Latin America Beverages. This position is responsible for leading a team of product developers to manage these two growing categories across the Latin American Region. This product category manager role will or work closely with technical and business cross functional partners from region and global to deliver a consumer preferred product portfolio from concept to commercialization. This would include the opportunity to:

  • Lead a team of product developers to meet consumer concepts, achieving projects KPIs while meeting regulatory, safety, and legal requirements.
  • Lead development of product roadmaps for energy and hydration through engagement and collaboration with cross functional partners.
  • Achieve AOP cycle targets on time and on budget through resource management and execution within approved limits and in compliance with PepsiCo policies
  • Apply technical knowledge of business driver to deliver results while sharing technical risk assessments and perspective
  • Ensure human/consumer centric approach to ideation, development, and decision making across platform and projects.
  • Develop business relationships and network with key internal partners to ensure support and collaboration to achieve goals.
  • Great people management. Build, engage, and develop team and capabilities. Educate both directs and broader associates to build capability in product development, new technologies, and current systems.
  • Mitigate risks proactively ensuring smooth execution by applying learnings from different experiences; communicates recommendations to Sr. Management.
  • Establish and maintain active collaboration and cooperation within Global and regional R&D network to share best practices and critical learning.
  • Ensure own team is delivering against the most appropriate and relevant strategic priorities and challenge those that may have less impact.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Education At minimum B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry or related discipline with 8-10 years of product development experience preferred

Professional Experience

  • Product Formulation understanding from front end of innovation through development and launch.
  • Some experience of working in functional beverages product development preferred
  • Managerial experience preferred with proven communication skills to influence team and cross functional partners and effectively communicate to all levels of organization
  • Strong team leadership and talent development skills.
  • Ability to lead, empower, and inspire direct reports while consciously supporting their growth and development
  • Highly collaborative and capable of managing stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and analytical reasoning.
  • Shaping strategies and delivering against needs of multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to manage, balance and prioritize multiple project initiatives to meet business objectives
  • Resourceful, adaptable, and agile
  • Contribute to and foster a technically focused and creative environment to build PepsiCo's competitive advantage
  • Strong product development formulation skills
  • Strong communication skills across all levels
  • Ability to coach and develop junior product developers
  • Able to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to manage short term and long term deliverables
  • Ability to build strategic plans for the future in collaboration with technical and business partners
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish a must

The Role is Located in Mexico City, Mexico (AZCAPOTZALCO, Mexico)
