Purpose of the Role

The Retail Store Manager plays a crucial role as the leader of the store, overseeing merchandising, financial operations, supervision of sales staff, and overall store management. This position leads a team in meeting sales and profitability targets while ensuring operational excellence and delivering a distinctive customer experience unique to Under Armour.

Your Impact

Sales & Omni

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to reach targeted sales and key performance indicators
  • Analyze sales trends and reports to make informed business decisions that drive results
  • Enhance performance through customer service, inventory management, and maintaining store appearance

Brand Image & Customer Experience

  • Lead by example and uphold the brand's service standards and selling behaviors
  • Enhance customer loyalty by improving in-store experiences through various omni-channel solutions

Retail Operations

  • Supervise merchandise handling, shipment processing, floor sets, and replenishment
  • Ensure efficiency in daily operational procedures
  • Ensure store compliance with audit standards and implement loss prevention measures
  • Optimize payroll and schedules to maximize productivity and achieve sales targets

Leadership & Team Collaboration/Management

  • Inspire and motivate the team through Under Armour's Core Competencies and functional behaviors
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues to drive positive change
  • Communicate effectively with the management team to align on business strategies
  • Identify and pursue learning opportunities to enhance leadership skills
  • Recruit, train, and retain high-performing team members
  • Develop career paths for employees and manage hiring processes
  • Recognize and reward outstanding performance to boost team engagement

Qualifications

  • Strong numerical, literacy, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in local language and English
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data
  • Knowledge of employment laws and compliance standards
  • Effective interpersonal and computer skills
  • Excellent time-management abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience
  • At least 1 year of management experience in sports/apparel & footwear retail
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 25 lbs/12 kgs
  • Capable of standing and moving for extended periods
  • Access to all areas of the store, including selling floor and stock areas
