Software Engineer II (Front-end WordPress Development)

How You'll Grow
A finely crafted web experience is more than just quality content and a clean design: it requires organized and well-written markup. Building sites with semantic, robust, and maintainable code is a top priority for Delighted developers—you might even call us a little bit obsessive.
As a front-end developer in our engineering team you'll be responsible for not only maintaining and extending our primary site, but for implementing forward-thinking web technologies and improving the team's development workflow. If you're passionate about creating sites that look as beautiful in code as they do in the browser then you've come to the right place.
Things You'll Do
- Design and maintain our communication-based web properties – including but not limited to: the homepage, product pages, landing pages, blog, customer support area, microsites, etc.
- Develop scalable, fast, robust, and simple web-based solutions to solve complex business problems
- Implement new features and optimize existing ones to drive maximum performance
- Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from other engineers, marketing, designers, and product managers
- Attend daily stand-up meetings, collaborate with your peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to your customers
What We're Looking For On Your Resume
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in Wordpress website development using PHP to build custom templates
- Front-end Javascript development with a focus on performant and secure code
- Modern CSS (and CSS frameworks) to implement responsive designs
- Web security and best practices (in particular XSS when using PHP)
- Web development fundamentals (HTTP, cookies, caching, AJAX, cross-domain sharing)
- Experience with version control software and code review (we use Github)\
- Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) WordPress plugin
- Experience with front-end Javascript frameworks
- UX skill to help optimize designs for better conversion
What You Should Know About This Team
The Delighted team is looking for a product-focused and customer-obsessed front-end software engineer. Someone who evaluates all of their work through the lens of user experience, and understands the importance of digital experience as a key driver of product-led growth.Delighted is a small engineering team currently comprised of 7 software developers. The entire Delighted organization is about 30 employees that work across all business functions with a global footprint. So, it is a similar environment to a start-up but with the support of the larger Qualtrics organization.
