**R&D Team Manager**:**Take your next career step at ABB with a global team that is energizing the transformation of society and industry to achieve a more productive, sustainable future.At ABB, we have the clear goal of driving diversity and inclusion across all dimensions: gender, LGBTQ+, abilities, ethnicity and generations.Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences.**:Support the R&D Manager for an assigned domain in the planning and management of research and development (R&D) activities and resources.Support the development of projects and identify the budget of the specific functional area (e.g. hardware/software/ electronic/mechanical).Lead R&D Engineers in order to meet requirements of product development projects.**This position reports to**:R&D Team Manager**Your responsibilities**:- Has a responsibility as a team leader and applies knowledge and competences to a variety of activities.- Works according to a project plan and performs as active leader in problem solving.- Independently solves applied research, engineering and technology problems by using theoretical knowledge.- Validate and coordinate complex design analysis and calculations based on engineering practices and business considerations.- Ensure designs based on top-down methodology and lean manufacturing methodologies, safety, and reliability.- Acts as senior project member providing experience and expertise in the execution and use of supporting tools, processes and methods.- Develop and implement measures to improve operations and customer satisfaction.- Acts as a mentor, transfer skills and knowledge, sharing best practices and lessons learned.- Actively works to identify and mitigate risks in research and development project and activities.**Your background**:- Professional accreditation at Engineering areas; Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronic or Robotics Engineering.- University graduated or + 5-8 years of experience done on Research & Development, Technology, Product, Design, Application Engineering areas.- Basic on new products development, re-design, improvement of existing and/or customized products to fulfill standards and/or customers' requirements.- English Advanced level, to understand written technical specifications and literature and provide oral and written technical information / feedback.Other languages - Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Chinese is a plus.Proficient with MS, Word and Excel.- Demonstrated leadership skills.- Knowledge of power electrical equipment motor control centers and/or switchgear or combination is a plus.- Knowledge and understanding of UL, ANSI, and IEEE standards; knowledge of laboratory and electrical measurement equipment.**More about us**:
