OverviewThe General Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the general ledger accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. This role involves collaborating with management to provide financial insights, preparing financial reports, overseeing month-end and year-end closing, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The supervisor also plays a critical role in managing financial forecasting, risk modeling, and improving the organization's financial performance.ResponsibilitiesLead the general ledger accounting team, ensuring the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.Collaborate with management to gather, analyze, and report financial information to support business decisions. Prepare and review financial statements and budget reports in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.Monitor and evaluate the company’s cost structures and revenue streams to ensure financial performance is optimized and opportunities for improvement are identified.Conduct financial forecasting and risk modeling to provide insights that guide strategic business decisions.Ensure all financial processes are documented and adhered to, in compliance with internal controls and industry best practices.Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standards.Prepare regular progress reports and present findings to senior management, offering recommendations for enhancing efficiency and optimizing financial performance.Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to financial management, ensuring the company’s practices remain compliant.Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to meet the needs of the organization.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in accountancy (BSA), or a related fieldLicensure: Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).Experience: At least 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a similar position, specifically in general accounting or financial reporting.Competencies: Strong experience and expertise in financial reporting, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all financial statements. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate financial data, identify trends, and offer actionable insights. High attention to detail, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and efficiently. Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, managing the team’s performance and ensuring deadlines and tasks are met. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to management and stakeholders effectively.
