Data Engineer

**JOB OVERVIEW**Plan A Technologies is looking for an experienced **Data Engineer**to join our dynamic team.In this role, you will play a critical part in analyzing, mapping, and integrating data across various systems.Your primary focus will be on leveraging SQL and other data tools to understand complex data structures, perform technical analysis, and support data integration efforts.**Please note**: You must have at least 5+ years of experience in SQL development and a strong understanding of data structures and relational databases to be considered for this role.**JOB RESPONSIBILITY**- Perform comprehensive data analysis across various systems, including the integration of SSIS packages, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and other relevant tools to understand tables, fields, and transformation logic.- Map data from different source systems to the same destination, ensuring the existing logic and structure remain intact.- Collaborate with the team to develop and execute SQL queries, dynamic SQL scripts, and Python statements to integrate new source systems with existing destinations using DataHub built on Azure Synapse.- Conduct technical analysis and data modeling to support data or integration efforts, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.- Work closely with cloud-based data storage and analysis products such as Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, or AWS Redshift to facilitate data storage, processing, and analysis.- Assist in the creation of views and data structures to support business needs, ensuring data integrity and performance.- Provide expertise and guidance to development teams on best practices for data integration, transformation, and storage.- Continuously monitor and improve data workflows, ensuring efficient and accurate data processing.**EXPERIENCE**- 5+ years of experience in SQL development, with proficiency in building queries, views, and utilizing dynamic SQL.- 3+ years of experience in technical analysis or data modeling, with a strong understanding of data structures and relational databases.- 1+ year of experience performing data analysis for integration projects or data migration efforts.- Familiarity with cloud-based data storage and analysis platforms, particularly Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, or AWS Redshift (Azure Synapse preferred).- Python experience is required, with the potential for expanded responsibilities in data processing and automation.- Background as a DBA with development experience or as a SQL developer is highly valued, with an emphasis on practical, hands-on experience in data integration and transformation.- Excellent organizational, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills and the ability to understand and map complex data flows between systems.- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills- Outstanding communication, and interpersonal skills- Initiative and drive to do great things**ABOUT THE COMPANY/BENEFITS**Plan A Technologies is an American software development and technology advisory firm that brings top-tier engineering talent to clients around the world.Our software engineers tackle custom product development projects, staff augmentation, major integrations and upgrades, and much more.The team is far more hands-on than the giant outsourcing shops, but still big enough to handle major enterprise clients.**Location**:Work From Home 100% of the time, or come in to one of our global offices.Up to you.**Great colleagues and an upbeat work environment**:You'll join an excellent team of supportive engineers and project managers who work hard but don't ever compete with each other.**Benefits**:You'll get a generous vacation schedule, Brand New Laptop, and other goodies.**_ If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you_
