Millions of companies, from large enterprises to ambitious startups, use Stripe to power their commerce.About the teamWe are seeking an exceptional transactional lawyer to join our commercial legal team supporting Stripe's fast-growing business in the Americas.ResponsibilitiesSupport the AMER Sales team, focusing on the Mexico and Brazil markets, and lead negotiations for complex and strategic agreements.Advise on commercial and legal issues across complex multi-jurisdictional transactions.Collaborate with Product Legal to bring new products and features to market globally.Help build Stripe's commercial legal infrastructure: drafting and maintaining agreements and playbooks, improving internal processes, and leveraging AI tooling to enhance efficiency.Partner with global teams including sales, operations, product, tax, risk, and others to drive scalable support and efficiency.Develop and deliver training and other resources to help the Sales team sell our products.Act as a point of escalation for outside counsel.Who you areMinimum qualifications (required):Proficient in legal drafting and negotiation in both English and Spanish.8+ years of relevant experience in-house or in a technology practice group at a top law firm.Qualified and in good standing with membership in Mexico and holding a JD degree or foreign equivalent.Preferred qualifications (bonus):US LLM or equivalent.Working knowledge of Portuguese.Experience in payment or fintech industries and familiarity with related regulatory issues.In-house experience advising high-growth companies.Experience using LLM tools and improving legal processes with AI technology.Knowledge of Brazilian regulatory frameworks and data protection laws such as CCPA, GDPR, and HIPAA.About StripeStripe builds infrastructure for online commerce and seeks to increase the GDP of the internet.
