Job Description:Sourcing Manager - Metals for North AmericaCollaborate with Innovative 3Mers Around the WorldChoosing where to start and grow your career has a major impact on your professional and personal life, so it's equally important you know that the company that you choose to work at, and its leaders, will support and guide you.With a diversity of people, global locations, technologies and products, 3M is a place where you can collaborate with 96,000 other curious, creative 3Mers.The Impact You'll Make in this RoleAs a Sourcing Manager for the Outsource Manufacturing and Hard Goods -Metals and Electronics Team, you will be responsible for providing support to 3M business divisions, serving as a Strategic Sourcing Manager for Metals category.This position will also drive sourcing policies and best practices, while helping the sourcing organization and 3M meet its cost savings, growth and working capital goals by leading negotiations, being part of effective New Product Introduction launches, and managing complex supplier relationships.Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:- Responsible for total supplier performance: measure and manage vs. key targets, compliance to agreements and implementing improvement roadmaps to address gaps- Primary contact and focal point to the various 3M Business Units to address all sourcing and supplier NPI management issues for the category assigned.- Collaborate with Business Unit partners to understand the long-term requirements, mapping requirements into supply base offerings.- Lead and orchestrate the roadmap reviews between engineering and suppliers, find solutions, build proposals, and implement them to meet business requirements, striking a balance between supply continuity, cost, and delivery- Lead QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews) and EBR (Executive Business Reviews) with suppliers & be able to effectively communicate with executive teams.Transform multiple and complex streams of information into simple, clear and concise terms to be presented to stakeholders- Assembles and leads multiple project teams, including new product introductions, to implement sourcing solutions for the category.- Establishes close working relationship with business unit management and suppliers on sourcing strategies and activities.- Performs complex contract negotiations.- Develop Total Cost of Ownership calculations for the category- Proactively communicates project direction and status with business unit and sourcing management- Recommends and influences management decisions in the area of sourcing solutions.- Researches and understands the short- and long-term market outlook for cost driver assigned materials and feed stocks.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:- BA/BS or equivalent experience technical degree- 10+ years of cross-functional supply chain experience sourcing and procurement- Deep experience direct material strategic sourcing.For metals - Stamping, forming, Machining, casting, and base metal sourcing.- Experience in sourcing and developing direct material suppliers across the Americas region (Canada, US, Mexico, LATM).- Advanced English proficiencyAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:- Experience with MSA, multi-year contracts, RFPs and should-cost models.- Experience developing, leading, and executing global commodity strategies focused on supplier cost, risk, and lead time reduction strategies- Willingness and ability to travel to support vendors, suppliers, etc., up to 50% of the time- Strong negotiation skills- Experience with MRP/ERP systems.Travel: May include up to 30% domestic/internationalLocation: Mexico - RemoteSupporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life - both physically and financially.To ensure competitive pay and benefits, 3M regularly benchmarks with other companies that are comparable in size and scope.Resources for You3M es un empleador que ofrece las mismas oportunidades.3M no discriminará a ningún solicitante de empleo por razones de raza, color, edad, religión, sexo, orientación sexual, identidad o expresión de género, origen nacional, discapacidad o estado de veterano.Our approach to flexibility is called Work Your Way, which puts employees first and drives well-being in ways that enable 3M's business and performance goals.You have flexibility in where and when work gets done.It all depends on where and when you can do your best work.3M Global Terms of Use and Privacy Statement
