Learn more at hexagon.com and follow us @HexagonAB.Purpose of Position:The Senior Buyer/Planner has the primary responsibility of ensuring material availability to support business demand. Other responsibilities include managing inventory levels, supporting material/product level revisions, interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics, identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities and supporting other business functions as required.Major Areas of Responsibility:Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problemsExpedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changesDetermine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead timesCoordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product developmentManage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliersProvide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as assignedSetup & maintain material master system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety stocks)Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply optionsEnsure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and proceduresKnowledge and Experience - Required:Bachelor’s degree in either: Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial or systems engineering, Other Engineering and/or Business fields.4 to 6 years of experience operating in a Manufacturing environment within Materials, Purchasing, Procurement or Finance areas.4 to 6 years of experience using ERP systems. (i.e. SAP, Oracle, JDEduards, MSDynamics, or Similar).Ability to speak and communicate proficiently in English languageKnowledge and Experience - Desired:Proficient at using MS excel (Ability to use Pivot Tables, Index, Queries, etc.)MS in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain or Engineering Management or MBA> 3 years hand-on experience working with SAP ERP system.APICS CertifiedTravel:Travel requirements < 15% of the time.Additional Information:Working remotely is permitted for this role.
