**What does a great Senior Software Development Engineer I do?**Travelport's performance engineers develop solutions that provide industry-leading travel solutions enabling our customers to search, compare and buy travel.Our search products handle requests at a massive and ever-growing scale.Our performance engineers thrive providing solutions that reduce cost and increase function in the demanding, NP-Hard air pricing domain.We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas including data construction and consumption, performance optimization and testing, pattern development and machine learning.As a performance engineer, you will work on one of the world's most unique and powerful systems processing billions of sub-second transactions per year.To work in this demanding area, we need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems as the features and technology continue to evolve in the exciting travel industry.In Travelport's Performance Pillar, we hire people with a broad set of technical skills who are ready to take on some of technology's greatest challenges and make an impact on millions of users.We are delivering on a next-generation marketplace that connects buyers and sellers that share our passion for exceptional travel experiences.Are you ready?**Responsibilities include**:- Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance work on an agile team focused on delivering air content to our agency customers- Perform code reviews for the team to ensure quality of deliverables of the team- Participate in feature and story refinement and research and analyze impact for new capabilities- Educate all development resources on coding best practices, performance-minded development, and Travelport standards- Generate ideas to improve overall system design and/or streamline CI/CD pipeline to generate efficiencies in system flow**Who we are looking for in this role**:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering- 7 years of software development experience, or 5 years with an advanced degree- Experience with software development using C/C++ or C# programming language- Experience using.Net technologies- Understanding of relational databases like SQL Server- Understanding of key value data stores like Redis- Excellent written and verbal skills, good interpersonal skills, effective conflict resolution skills, and good time management skills- Agile/SAFe certifications and experience preferred- Dynamic and self-motivated with high level of energy and enthusiasm- Attention to detail, persistence, and follow-through a must- Appetite for learning and acquiring necessary knowledge quickly**Our ambition is to hire for potential not just experience, and you're likely to succeed if you:- Are always ready to give it your all and deliver high quality work- Are excited to use your creativity and innovative thinking to try new things- Take responsibility and own your work- Are courageous and ambitious to challenge what's been done before
