Job Description
Etsy is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to join the Ads ML advertising team. Our team develops custom machine‑learning models that can drive product vision and customer impact. We are looking for individuals who are product and delivery‑driven, and are passionate about making ML innovations in digital advertising to help improve the Etsy buyer/seller experience. Team and Problem SpaceHere’s a taste of the problems we’re solving:How can we ensure that the right ads are put in front of the right buyers? How can we help our sellers set bids to achieve the highest rate of return? How do we maintain a pipeline that scales for our 90+ million buyers and sellers? How can we detect bad actors in our system to protect sellers? How can we help our sellers to allocate budget? Day‑to‑Day ResponsibilitiesWork cross‑functionally with product engineering teams and communicate your ideas and model capabilities to product managers. Prototype, optimize, and productionize large‑scale ML models that help deliver key results. Conduct A/B experiments to validate the effectiveness of ML models and pipelines. Work closely with product managers, ML engineers, full‑stack engineers, and designers on product teams to deliver content to tens of millions of users. Assume other tasks may evolve over time and adapt as needed. QualificationsFocused expertise in one of the following fields: natural language processing, image processing, reinforcement learning, deep learning. Experience training, deploying, monitoring, debugging, and iterating on production machine‑learning systems. Proficiency with databases, SQL, and scripting languages. Successfully take requirements from design through to delivery both independently and with a team. Write understandable, testable code with an eye toward maintainability. Care about the implications of your work on end users.
