Comun exists to serve them throughout their journey.Learn more at comun.app/nosotrosAbout The RoleWe're looking for aData Scientistto help us build a deeper understanding of our users, detect and prevent fraud, and drive smarter decisions across Product, Risk, and Growth.You'll work on everything from designing data models to building predictive systems — helping us leverage data science to shape both product and business strategy.This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll help lay the foundation of Común's data science function during one of the most exciting stages of growth.What You'll DoDevelop models and experiments to identify trends, detect anomalies, and optimize decision-making.Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Growth to design and evaluate A/B tests and predictive systems.Build and maintain data pipelines and tools to support scalable analytics.Translate raw data into insights that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.Contribute to the design of fraud detection, credit, and risk-scoring models.Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.What We're Looking For3–5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, ideally in fintech or consumer products.Strong background in statistics, modeling, and machine learning.Proficiency in Python or R, with experience using frameworks like pandas, scikit-learn, or TensorFlow.Strong SQL and data visualization skills (Looker, Metabase, or similar).Experience working with cross-functional teams to turn insights into product or operational improvements.Startup mindset: analytical, resourceful, and comfortable working in fast-moving environments.Why You'll Love Working HereYou'll have a direct, measurable impact on a fast-growing company's core strategy.Work on data that actually changes lives — improving financial access for immigrant communities.Join a collaborative, mission-driven team during a transformative growth phase.Competitive salary, equity, and benefits.TeamWe are a team of 40 based out of New York, coming from industry-leading companies like Brex, Nubank, Cruise, and Verkada.
