Project Buyer – Valeo Full time, Permanent contract, Regular employee status, located in Queretaro, Mexico. Job requisition id: REQ2025067336, posted 2026-01-23, application deadline 2026-02-27. Overview As a Project Buyer, you will attend project meetings, lead and support all purchasing activities related to the project, and ensure timely sourcing, supplier evaluation, risk mitigation, and contract compliance. You will manage the end‑to‑end RFQ process, coordinate with commodity strategy, and promote best practices across the platform. Responsibilities Prepare the Sourcing Plan and define mutual PTM commitments. Select compliant suppliers from the Segment Panel and identify bundle opportunities. Identify critical parts, review contingency plans, and request PM arbitration when required. Coordinate S‑VRF definition, upload in PuMa, and plan supplier design reviews to capture improvement proposals and obtain supplier acceptance of Valeo requirements. Use all PuMa features, promote usage among the project team, and involve Segment Leaders to share constraints and propose sourcing strategies. Assess pre‑selected suppliers’ risk impacts on development or production capacity, technical or quality capability, and financial sustainability. Propose mitigation plans recorded in PuMa Pre‑SoCo & SoCo sections. Propose lotting and RFP tactics and anticipate use of auctions with the Project Team. Perform RFQ Process via PuMa & Auction (live or online). Leverage commodity organization to reach pre‑sourcing decisions and meet project targets. Anticipate and elevate issues to appropriate organisational levels to ensure risk mitigation plans and project targets are enforced. Ensure timely sign‑off with stakeholders to achieve successful auction events. Ensure permanent update of sourcing process milestones (Pre‑SoCo, SoCo) to guarantee reliability of the SoCo forecast. Liaise with Productivity Buyers to identify possible P/N for Business Link application prior to auction/SoCo. Pilot and forecast the project purchasing index and lead the productivity action plan (VP & PTBV) to reach CAA targets. Ensure proper transfer to Serial Production, including productivity actions yet to implement (PTBV). Define and control communication flows and contents between project teams and suppliers; ensure all necessary documentation is properly stored in PuMa. Manage achievement of all project milestones related to suppliers and follow progress of PQA stages. Coordinate with PG/PL PPD, Platform Project Buyer, and other project buyers to meet platform SOP, commodity strategy, localization needs, and global leverage. Propose and validate pre‑sourcing target suppliers with commodity organization. Manage all contractual aspects to protect Valeo intellectual property and segment panel. Qualifications Strong project management and purchasing experience in a global automotive environment. Deep knowledge of sourcing process, supplier evaluation, risk analysis, and contract management. Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills. Proficiency with digital tools (PuMa, SAP) and ability to promote best practices among teams.
