In this role, you'll be at the frontline of our operation, solving problems, optimizing processes, and delivering top-notch service to our passengers. Challenges you will work on: In this exciting and dynamic role, you will oversee airport operations for the Canary Islands and Funchal during the winter months and support other airports in Europe during the summer months (for a planned period), both strategically important markets for SAS. You will tackle the challenge of ensuring punctuality and safety for over 10,000 annual departures. As the main point of contact at these airports, you will work closely with ground handling partners, subcontractors, airport authorities, and regulatory bodies to optimize daily operations and solve issues efficiently. In this role you will report to the Station Manager and Head of Regional Line Stations. The Team: You will be part of a high-performing, close-knit team within SAS' Global Line Stations, under the Ground Operations division. Securing continuous updates of local procedures, coordinating operational procedures and issues between SAS and subcontractors. Checking and validating invoices, identifying any inconsistencies or errors. Overseeing station performance and reporting, including daily, weekly, monthly, and historical performance metrics. Continuously recommending and implementing new processes to improve performance, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. Acting as Emergency Response Coordinator when required. Ensuring compliance with SAS performance standards and all applicable regulatory requirements. Liaising with Airport Authorities and other airline partners to explore methods for continuous operational improvement. To be successful, we believe you have: Extensive experience in Airport Operations with a strong desire to continue growing your career. Solid understanding of SMS (Safety Management Systems) and quality systems. Broad knowledge of regulations, laws, and industry agreements, including IATA SGHA and SLAs. Familiarity with Altea DCS and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong financial acumen and experience with budget monitoring. Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written. It is also advantageous if you have previous experience in a leadership or managerial role. Our Culture at SAS At SAS, we are dedicated to caring for each other, delighting our travelers, and driving the transformation towards sustainable aviation. As a future colleague on our team, you’ll join a culture where we work collaboratively towards common goals, recognize each other's contributions, and celebrate successes. Our focus is on safe, sustainable, and punctual execution, and we are committed to protecting our planet while transforming SAS for the future. This is an empowering workplace where you can thrive, grow, and take ownership of your work. Join us at SAS and be part of shaping the future of aviation Additional Information Location: LPA Gran Canaria Airport (with missions for a larger period in Europe during summer months).
