We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Engineer to join our team.The successful candidate will be responsible for developing technical variable and tooling costs for various car components and systems using activity-based costing methodologies.This involves working closely with engineering and purchasing teams to analyze supplier quotes and reach agreement on appropriate costs, as well as identifying opportunities to reduce costs through design optimization and benchmarking.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop component level cost targets, applying vehicle top-down budget allocationUnderstand and apply reference vehicle data and Low Cost Country savings to EBOM component level dataHave a deep understanding of vehicle construction by systems (Body, Chassis, Powertrain, Interior, etc.) and subsystems (Underbody, suspension, trim, cooling, HVAC, etc.)Be able to identify and organize technical commodities into their functional purposeIdentify and propose design alternatives to meet and exceed aggressive cost targetsLead cross-functional team reviews of cost status to target, component sourcing, governance cost report outsRequirementsBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university or Bachelor Degree in Finance.Minimum of 5 years of automotive industry experience at an OEM or large tier 1, including one or more of the following areas: Engineering Program Management (Technical or Financial), including leading a cross-functional teamVehicle Program Management (Technical or Financial), including leading a cross-functional teamEngineering Design & DevelopmentOther educational credentials combined with relevant experience may be considered.Preferred QualificationsExcellent relationship building skillsAbility to present ideas and concepts successfully to all levels of managementAbility to productively manage changeExcellent communication skills (oral and written)Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)Engineering vehicle cost analysis experienceTooling and variable cost estimatingWe offer a competitive salary package, excellent benefits, and opportunities for professional growth and development.We value diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from candidates who share these values.#J-*****-Ljbffr
