OverviewAvenue Code is the leading software consultancy focused on delivering end-to-end development solutions for digital transformation across every vertical.We're privately held, profitable, and have been on a solid growth trajectory since day one.We care deeply about our clients, our partners, and our people.We prefer the word 'partner' over 'vendor', and our investment in professional relationships is a reflection of that philosophy.We pride ourselves on our technical acumen, our collaborative problem-solving ability, and the warm professionalism of our teams.About The OpportunityWe're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Franchise Team, responsible for modernizing and rebuilding the client's Franchise Tool from scratch — a key step in retiring legacy systems and shaping a new, scalable, and cloud-native architecture.This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers, collaborating with a global, high-performance engineering team.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.Modernize existing franchise systems and migrate legacy components into a cloud-native architecture on Microsoft Azure.Ensure high performance, reliability, and observability across distributed services.Work closely with cross-functional teams (frontend, DevOps, QA) to deliver end-to-end solutions.Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using industry best practices.Participate in on-call rotations to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of experience in backend development using Java and Spring Boot.Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.Experience with PostgreSQL and database optimization for performance and scalability.Proven experience with Azure Cloud deployments (App Services, AKS, Monitoring, CI/CD).Experience with Kafka or other event streaming platforms.Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes environments.Strong communication skills and ability to work remotely within PST hours.Nice To Have SkillsReact.js and TypeScript experience for frontend collaboration.Docker and CI/CD pipeline setup (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).Cucumber or other testing frameworks (JUnit, TestContainers).Experience with Gradle or similar build tools.Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).Exposure to event-driven design and domain-driven design (DDD) concepts.Prior experience with legacy system modernization projects.Data and PrivacyAvenue Code reinforces its commitment to privacy and to all the principles guaranteed by the most accurate global data protection laws, such as GDPR, LGPD, CCPA and CPRA.The Candidate data shared with Avenue Code will be kept confidential and will not be transmitted to disinterested third parties, nor will it be used for purposes other than the application for open positions.As a Consultancy company, Avenue Code may share your information with its clients and other Companies from the CompassUol Group to which Avenue Code's consultants are allocated to perform its services.Employment DetailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Engineering and Information TechnologyIndustries: IT Services and IT Consulting#J-*****-Ljbffr
