OverviewYour Title: AI Engineer (P2)Job Location: Mexicali, MexicoOur Business Segment: Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Owner Segment (AECO)Our Department: Construction Management Solutions (CMS)Are you passionate about the foundational elements of machine learning and eager to contribute to innovative AI solutions within a supportive team environment?ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development and implementation of basic machine learning algorithms and models under direct supervision, with opportunities to learn about deep learning concepts.Contribute to data collection, preprocessing, and feature engineering tasks for AI/ML projects, ensuring data readiness and beginning to understand data coverage and quality for industry use cases.Perform routine testing, debugging, and documentation of ML code and systems to maintain quality and functionality.Support the integration of ML models into existing applications, ensuring adherence to established procedures and guidelines, and learning basic MLOps practices like containerization and monitoring.Collaborate with senior engineers and data scientists, translating ambiguous needs into clear, initial ML tasks and learning best practices in ML development.What Skills & Experience You Should BringBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field. Trimble's Professional ladder typically requires four or more years of formal education.Conceptual knowledge of machine learning theories, practices, and procedures, demonstrating an understanding of core ML concepts and foundational deep learning concepts.Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language (e.g., Python) with a focus on data manipulation and basic algorithm implementation, and familiarity with libraries like NumPy, pandas, or scikit-learn.Understanding of fundamental data structures and basic data modeling concepts, crucial for efficient code development.Ability to follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing problems of limited scope, with a focus on obtaining readily available answers.What Skills & Experience You Could BringFamiliarity with a common machine learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).Basic understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services.Relevant coursework or academic projects in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or data science, showcasing practical application.Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) for collaborative code management.Basic experience with Linux and bash scripting.Early evidence of production-ready ML work through academic projects or strong GitHub portfolios.Exposure to concepts of generative AI or large language models (LLMs).About Trimble ConstructionTrimble is developing technology, software and services that drive the digital transformation of construction with solutions that span the entire architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry.
