Job Description The Brakes D&R Engineer is responsible for delivery of actuation brake systems and components. Responsibilities include lead design, develop, validate, release, and implement brakes hardware parts under their responsibility (Brake tubes, pedal box, jounce hoses & wheel speed sensors); in addition to interface with Brake Controls Hardware & Software teams and Fix Brakes team to deliver overall Brakes System performance for the assigned vehicle programs. The D&R engineer is responsible to design parts that comply with Corporate and Legal Requirements. The D&R signoffs compliance to Engineering Requirements, ES (Engineering Specifications) and DR (Design Rules) as well as the Manufacturing, Assembly and Service requirements. The engineer is also responsible of parts incorporation at the Assembly Plant. Responsibilities 1. The Brakes Engineer is responsible for delivery of actuation brake systems and components. Responsibilities include the design and package of components, overall system performance, cost, weight, timing and quality. 2. The Brakes Engineer is responsible to deliver the engineering documents in order to source the correct supplier to support the program. 3. The Brakes Engineer leads components and system design and development, validating and signing off all key brake performance and attribute requirements. 4. The Brakes Engineer leads vehicle tests, bench tests for specific functions. 5. Working with brake development engineers for refining functional characteristics of the brake components, system, features and the vehicle. 6. The engineer manages supplier delivery and performance. 7. Serve as a leader and representative of brake engineering to interfacing organizations. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Related degree. High English proficiency (reading, writing and speaking) Experience in functional engineering desirable, preferably Chassis or Automotive related work experience (Ford, OEM, supplier) Strong leadership skills – Inherent self-starter, self-motivated with strong drive for results Project management skills – Capable of managing projects by looking both at the big picture objectives and at detail administration to achieve these objectives.
